Interpretive Panel Design Process
Interpretive Planning: Defining Success from the Beginning
Interpretation is the most cost-effective tool available to engage visitors, delivering relevance and meaning to the visitor’s experience. With our credentialed approach to turn-key interpretative design, Kaser Design provides a “goal-based” focus to the planning and design process, defining “success” at its beginning.
PHASE 1: Interpretive Planning
Work begins with a site visit, collecting reference material, and a discussion of project goals, ideas, and special requirements. Viable approaches, methods, and techniques are explored. An interpretive plan is designed to accomplish measurable objectives and create memorable connections between your stories and visitors.
PHASE 2: Concept Creation
Graphic design will examine various styles, adhering to any existing brand or visual guidelines as required. Initial concepts will offer a selection of color schemes, fonts, and image use.
PHASE 3: Design Development
Initial concepts are refined to incorporate revisions, additions, and feasibility restraints. Project management ensure cost and quality control. This is a pivotal phase that marks the start of final solution selections.
PHASE 4: Final Design
Guided by feedback, final design addresses all outstanding refinements. In addition, materials are specified and selected, and any equipment needs are finalized.
PHASE 5: Fabrication/Production
Fabrication and construction of exhibit components, graphics production, and audio/visual production are handled, coordination, and controlled to ensure that schedule and budget targets are met.
PHASE 6: Installation
Exhibit components are assembled and delivered to the project site for final installation. On-site construction, fabrication, and set-up may take several hours or weeks to complete depending on the size and complexity of the project.
